If it is true that I behave like a toxic irritating inefficient employee at work, it is also true that my God is still Sovereign and keeps His great and precious promises. God is still extending grace and mercy. I am still His child and there is still a way to victory.
I need to remember...
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
(2 Peter 1:3-4, NIV)
Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.
Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; ...
(2 Peter 1:5-11, NASV)

I need to always prepare myself and surrender to His Divine Nature.... filling myself with the knowledge of Him through consistent daily bible study and prayer.
I need to remember I was bought at a very precious price, God gave Himself/His Son for me,
and has conquered the grave - death - and the power of sin.
I need remember who's I am and to "stand up tall" with confidence in Christ and hold fast to my faith which will keep me from slipping and panicking.
I need remember my God is so great and to rejoice and turn my eyes and focus on all the good wonderful things that He has filled this day, this hour, this moment with - things that true, & honorable & righteous & pure & lovely & excellent. When I fill my mind and my mouth with all of these things I will not have time to look back or to the side and will keep my eyes on these things on my path toward righteousness and yield and allow God to do HIS WORK of perfecting me.

Lord hear my heart - have mercy and move on my behalf to wash me again and make me whole.
Thank you for your mercy that is without fail. Thank you Jesus that by your precious blood you have forgiven me and that you do not remember my sins and lawless acts. Thank you that, that work is a forever work. Thank you for the presence of the Holy Spirit drawing me in this very moment toward you and that by the same power that raised Christ from the dead I am being made holy that You are doing a work of sanctification in me. I thank you Father that you will see this to completion.
I choose to remember. I choose to thank you.
I love you and I choose to honor you with my attitude, my behavior.
I choose to extend kindness and love. (You Lord have given me good "customer service skills". I choose to employee these "skills" with EVERYONE treating each person regardless of who they are or what role they have in my life with kindness and respect as a "advocate" - a representative of both You my Lord my God as well as them listening carefully to their true needs/concerns and bringing those needs to you to take care of - doing what I can of course within the grace that You extend to me, but leaving the real work to You to accomplish.)
I choose to disregard and reject any bitterness, and pride in myself, and any doubt or insecurity, so that I may leave open room for you to dwell within me. Better yet, I ask you now to enter in and fill me so that there will be no place for any insecure doubt and no room for selfishness. Thank you God for your mercy, and for the Power of Your Love!
AMEN
after you have done everything to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist

ReplyDeleteIsaiah 35
Joy of the Redeemed
1 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the LORD,
the splendor of our God.
3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way;
4 say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you."
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert.
God Disciplines His Sons
ReplyDelete1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."[a]
7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13"Make level paths for your feet,"[b] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
14Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
