Counting Blessings

Paul admonished us to(Phillippians 4:8 KJV)

"whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

If you read this blog you know me and you already know that the phrase for think on these things is an accounting phrase that meant to count and re-count (to make an account of).

I the spirit of this admonition I am trying to do less I wish ... (fill in the blank), and more counting of my blessings; more counting of my whatsoever things are.

Today I am grateful for a boss and co-worker that understand I am under the weather and my job performance is slow and that I need to work a couple of shorter days. Their understanding and kindness is honest and praise worthy.

I am grateful to my faithful God for some very specific ways that He has shown Himself to me and my family just this week.

I am grateful, today, for beautiful sunshine, for a CD player that let's me listen to the Word of God, on my way to and from work. For the words from John's Gospel, reminding me that Jesus is our rising sun, bringing us light and life, hope and redemption.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will try to keep this up. The sacrific of my time to re-count the wonderful blessings in my life and give God Glory and Praise for them.
