The Truth will set you free.

And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. 

(John 8:32 & 36 Amplified Bible)

The mightiest weapon we have in the war for our minds is Truth.  For these strongholds were created by building lie upon lie until we were bound within a thick fortress of deception.  The good news is that Jesus died and rose again so that we would know the Truth and be set truly and completely free. 

The key here is: *KNOW* the truth.  It is more than just a head knowledge or learned tradition; it is a truth that comes from relationship, experience and teaching.  (This should sound familiar to you if you were in Worship service this morning.) 

The people Jesus was speaking to here in John 8 were relying on their heritage and religious traditions as their confidence, and yet they were blind slaves to sin and unable to know (recognize and believe) the Truth.

As we go on the offensive, to take captive every lie and half truth that our strongholds were built with. Ask God the Father to go beyond just showing you the “right scripture” (because words alone have only a little power). It through our relationship with the Son that the words can be understood and believed, and bring the freeing revelation that destroys the lie and releases us from our slavery to it.  When the lie is replaced with the Truth we understand and believe (know), we experience freedom. 

Whom the Son sets free is FREE INDEED!

Start with a personal conversation between yourself and your Heavenly Father (prayer). It is within the love relationship as sons and daughters (thanks to Jesus), that we can trust God to show us what false things we are putting our confidence in. Ask God to lead us to the truth and help us to understand it and believe it, and set us FREE!
