Autumn rains

Autumn rains represent God's faithfulness to restore.

The rising sun is one of my favorite daily symbols of God's faithfulness. His faithfulness to pour out mercies and hope for us every single day. His mercy and faithfulness that rises even after the darkest night.

But this morning with the rain falling in the dark. I was reminded of these two scriptures. Although some of the promises here are very specific for a very specific time and place, there's a truth in it that I can grab hold of. The truth is this that the autumn rains represent God's faithfulness to restore and refresh. Within both context this refreshing comes after times of exile, famine, trial, and seasons in dry wilderness.

I am thankful for this reminder that God is faithful. God is faithful to restore and refresh! I look to him who restores my soul!!!

Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the LORD your God! For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring. (Joel 2:23 NLT)

When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. (Psalms 84:6 NLT)
