Praying and Pressing Forward

(not much of a blog - more of a short little prayer and glimpses of pieces of scripture from my bible study - recorded here to reinforce and remember)

Praying and Pressing Forward

Lord God Almighty Tender Heavenly Father,
Complete in us Your Holy work of perfecting our hearts toward You.
May we be found in You. Give us Your Strength as we press forward to take hold of that for which you took hold of us. Purify our hearts for only you. May your eyes rest on us ... and strengthen us for Your Name's sake. May we be/continue to become... patient in affliction, faithful in prayer, and joyful in Hope. Our Hope is in you alone.
- by the Power of the Blood of the Lamb and IN THE NAME OF CHRIST JESUS our LORD.
Let it/May it be/AMEN

To stand before men on behalf of God is one thing.
To stand before God on behalf of men is something entirely different.

Philippians 3:12-16 (New American Standard Bible)
12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;
16 however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.

2 Chronicles 16:9a
King James Version (KJV)
9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
9 "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His."

{To understand the context of the verse above}
2 Chronicles 16 The Message (MSG)
7-9 Just after that, Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said, "Because you went for help to the king of Aram and didn't ask God for help, you've lost a victory over the army of the king of Aram. Didn't the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked God for help and he gave you the victory. God is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God's help. Now you're in trouble—one round of war after another."
